Dental Practitioner

Laura is the senior dentist in the team having qualified from Queen’s University in 1989. She has been with the practice for 20 years after living and working in central London for a number of years.
Laura owned the practice until autumn of 2015 when she was delighted to pass the administrative responsibilities on to the fabulous Portman team, allowing her to focus entirely on practical dentistry and patient care. Never one to sit back and allow the grass to grow under her feet, she has just completed a postgraduate certificate in clinical education at Queen’s University, earning a commendation.
Whilst this course is about learning how to teach, Laura has spent her entire career expanding her knowledge and skills to improve the care and treatments she can provide through many courses including orthodontics, aesthetic dentistry, implant dentistry, advanced treatment planning and more recently facial aesthetics.
Laura has a real sense of fun and a very relaxed manner, setting patients at ease as she chats while she works regaling patients with all manner of tales about the Jones family.
Married to Alan now for more than half her life, they live in Randalstown with their two sons Isaac and Gideon, two sharpeis and Laura’s two tortoises Esio and Trot.

Rebecca joined our team in September 2016 and has a smile that couldn’t fail to be contagious! Originally from Cookstown and graduating from Queen’s University in 2013, she now travels to Ballymena from Belfast. Before joining our team, Rebecca worked in general practice in Belfast but jumped at the chance to join our wee family knowing that it felt a perfect fit for her outlook and ethos.
We are delighted to have her! Feedback from patients is hugely positive, she is so friendly and reassuring but behind her fabulous smile, she is super-organised and efficient, hating to run late with her appointments.
Rebecca is interested in all aspects of dentistry with a particular interest in gum health which is great as gum health is fundamental to oral and general health but perhaps isn’t a fashionable area of interest for dentists!
A committed vegetarian, she’s having no joy converting the rest of us but this leads to a bit of craic around the kitchen table. She recently told Laura she loves old music from the 80’s which of course Laura still considers contemporary!
Dental Practitioner

Paul is the latest addition to the clinical team in Laura Jones. Originally from Magherafelt, Paul graduated from Newcastle in 2010, and then practiced in Edinburgh for a number of years, before returning home to Northern Ireland in 2018.
Paul is a most welcome addition to the practice. He is particularly interested in restorative dentistry, and is constantly undertaking further study and training. He is currently studying for his Masters in Restorative Dentistry, which reflects his enthusiasm and commitment to his work. His easy going and calming manner has proved to be hugely popular with his patients, and we have nothing but the most complimentary feedback about Paul!
In his spare time, Paul is a rugby enthusiast, but most of his free time is now dedicated to his young family.
Dental Hygienist

Brioni is the latest addition to our hygiene team, having joined us in summer 2019. Originally from Scotland, she relocated to Northern Ireland after graduating, as she has family connections here in NI.
Brioni has a lovely, gentle manner and has fitted in beautifully with the team here. In her downtime, she heads back home to Scotland when she can, to spend time with her very close knit family.

Ed has a deep seated connection with Laura Jones Dental Care. He has carried out the prosthetic lab work for Jones’ for many years and before him, his dad was the dental technician used by the practice, long before Laura herself was a dentist.
In 2015, Edwin graduated as one of a very small number of clinical dental technicians which made us, and would have made his father, very proud. This is a new role in the UK dental team, allowing qualified clinical dental technicians to treat some patients independently and others in collaboration with one of our team of dentists. It is a real bonus for us to be in a position to offer Ed’s expertise directly to our patients.
Ed is married to our Practice Manager, Samara. They are kept very busy outside of work with their three young children.
Lead Dental Nurse

Ayesha has been a member of the team since early 2016. She has a number of years experience and has recently taken on the role of Lead Nurse within the practice.
She is highly skilled and is always undertaking training and study to develop her skillset. She particularly enjoys working chairside when Robert is placing implants, and her other passion is oral health education. She completed her qualification in Oral Health Education early in 2018 and she puts this to good use by going out to preschools and primary schools in the area to speak to pupils about the importance of looking after their teeth.
When Ayesha isn’t in work, she is kept busy at home, looking after her husband and little daughter.
Dental Nurse
Jessica is the newest addition to the chairside team, and she can be found working alongside Paul. They make a great team and together help set patients right at ease.
When Jessica isn’t in work, she’s a real fitness enthusiast, who puts the rest of us to shame with her healthy lifestyle!
Practice Manager

Samara is our Practice Manager and joined the team shortly after obtaining her Law Degree at Queen’s University in Belfast. She has also completed a diploma in dental practice management and is well qualified and experienced for her role in our team. She handles all the day to day affairs of the practice.
Over the years, Samara has taken over much of the behind the scenes running of the practice from Laura, allowing Laura to spend more of her working time with patients. Samara is married to Ed, our CDT and they have 3 young children, meaning she is kept extremely busy, both in and out of the practice!
Receptionist/Dental Nurse

Elizabeth is a member of our reception team and she brings a wealth of experience to the role.
Previously having worked in both general dental and specialist dental settings, she is knowledgeable, friendly and empathetic towards our patients. She always has a smile and is always willing to go that extra mile to ensure our patients receive the highest standards of care.
Elizabeth is kept busy outside of work too. As a devoted mum to 4 boys, she loves to spend her time out of work with her family.
